activ8 Program

Sample:

Elementary English and French Schools in Canada who ordered the activ8 resource in 2006/2007.

Findings:

·     83% of respondents stated that activ8 had a moderate to high increase on their overall ability to motivate students to be physically active

·     94% of respondents stated that they would definitely or be highly likely to recommend activ8 to colleagues.

What the respondents had to say:
“All students participated actively and felt successful.  Challenges can be easily modified.  Challenges are excellent connections to the curriculum and incorporate all strands of the Phys. Ed. Curriculum.”

    “We got our whole school excited about it.  The students loved all the activities and were very 
    motivated.  The best part is that it was inclusive - every child felt happy about getting fit.”

activ8 Challenge Contest

Sample:

55 English Elementary schools in Ontario who registered to participate in the activ8 Challenge Contest in 2006/2007

Findings:
·     88% of the respondents stated that the students responded either ‘positively’ or ‘very positively’ to the activ8 Challenge Contest.

·     82% of respondents (14/17) used the curriculum connections.

What the respondents had to say: 
“I liked the different activities for each challenge.  By being given a warm-up, skill development, and cool down -- it helped with planning.”

   “I enjoy the way the activities were set up, easy access and materials varied or had different
   variations.”
