Background
Always Changing is a school-based resource designed to teach pre-teens in Grades 5 and 6 about the transition between childhood and adolescence, and the beginning stages of puberty. This program provides resources and teaching strategies to help students understand their changing bodies, the stages of puberty and the role of personal appearance in a positive self-image.
Provided to schools free of charge, Always Changing addresses issues such as adolescent growth, development, personal hygiene and self-esteem. Directly linked to the Healthy Living strand of the Ontario Health and Physical Education Curriculum Policy, Always Changing is not only beneficial to pre-teens but also to their parents and educators.
Available in English and French, Always Changing comes complete with worksheets, quizzes, crosswords, and other fun resources and teaching strategies. Check out the Resources and Materials page to download student worksheets. It also contains a booklet with information relevant to parents, and product samples from the participating sponsors.
Always Changing was developed by Procter and Gamble Inc. and is endorsed and promoted by Ophea and PHE Canada* (Physical and Health Education Canada).
