Grade:
Primary, Junior
Facility:
Gymnasium, Multi-purpose room, outside.
Materials:
3 or 4 objects as targets per group, variety of soft objects (bean bags)
Activity Description:
This activity will provide students the opportunity to work in teams by aiming at targets and getting physically active along the way.
Overview:
  • Students work in groups of 6-8 students.
  • Each group places the ‘targets’ in the centre of their group.
  • Identify each target with an activity (i.e., bucket 1 is two-foot hops, box 2 is jumping jacks, etc.)
  • Students in the groups throw beanbags or balls at the targets.
  • When anyone hits a target, the whole group stops and does the activity identified with that target.
  • When they all finish the activity, each group member continues to try to hit targets.
