Ontario in Motion... Working Together

PARC hosted it's second successful two day training, networking, and planning event "Ontario in Motion...Taking the Next Step" this past February 2004. Using information provided to PARC through the needs assessment conducted at the last conference, PARC created a great line-up of presentations, workshops, networking, sharing and planning opportunities. The conference agenda focused on two key themes, one for each day. The first day focused on "Creating a Culture of Physical Activity", and the theme for the Second day was "Moving Toward Physical Activity Policy."

Representation from 34 of the 37 Health Units across Ontario were present, and a total of over 115 delegates participated in the learning, planning and networking event.

We were pleased to have François Lagarde, M.A, as the Keynote speaker for the 'Ontario In Motion: Taking the Next Step' conference. François is a social marketing and communications consultant with a wide-ranging client base, he also worked for ParticipACTION where he served as vice-president and manager of national media campaigns/special projects. Mr. Lagarde is an author, trainer, and an associate professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal. If you would like to learn more about Lagarde please click here for his bio.
