Health and Physical Education

The NEW Ophea Health and Physical Education (H&PE) Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8 are now available online in both English and French. These resources were developed to support implementation of Ontario’s 2010 H&PE Curriculum and replace the Ophea “binders” (which were developed to support implementation of the 1998 H&PE Curriculum).

Partnering school boards can access the Ophea H&PE Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8 through a password-protected site at http://hpe.ophea.net Contact your school board for details about how to access the site. Non-subscribing school boards, private/independent/international schools and public health units may contact curriculum@ophea.org for more information.

A new Secondary H&PE Curriculum has yet to be released by the Ministry of Education. Secondary schools may still purchase H&PE Curriculum Support Documents for Grades 9 & 10 (while supplies last) to support the implementation of the 1999 Secondary H&PE Curriculum. The Support Documents (often called the H&PE Binders) include lesson plans, daily physical activity ideas, and black line masters. Support materials for Grades 11 and 12 are available for download.
