Connecting Ophea's Programs to Healthy Schools
The Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health Promotion have challenged Ontario schools to create healthier learning environments by participating in the Healthy Schools Recognition Program – schools are encouraged to apply by March 28th, 2008.
If your school is already using one of Ophea's resources or programs, you are on your way to being recognized. If not, then consider choosing an Ophea program to provide your school with support in becoming healthier, while also participating in Ontario’s Healthy Schools Recognition Program.
To determine how your school can be recognized, the Ministry of Education has developed the Foundations for a Healthy School, which outlines components of health-related topics within a broad framework.
