Programs & Services
Ophea provides quality programs, services and training to schools and communities to enable children and youth to lead healthy active lives. Ophea's high quality programs and services can help your school community address a variety of health related topics and all of the components of a Healthy School identified in the Government of Ontario's Foundations for a Healthy School framework.
Ophea has developed a number of Health and Physical Education Curriculum Supports which include Ophea's H&PE Curriculum Support Resources, workshops, and consultations designed to increase the knowledge and skills of educators.
It has been four years since the Ministry of Education introduced Daily Physical Activity (DPA) to elementary schools as a part of the government’s Healthy Schools Program and Ophea has been involved every step of the way, providing valuable and practical Daily Physical Activity supports to teachers, principals and school board administrators through DPA Activity cards, Instructional DVD resources, music CDs and more!
The Ophea Resources section is home to all of Ophea's resources that assist educators and the community in developing healthy active school and communities - topics include healthy eating, physical activity, personal safety and substance use and abuse.
By using one of Ophea’s programs or services you are on your way to meeting the expectations of the Ministry of Education’s and Ministry of Health Promotion’s Healthy Schools Recognition Program.
