H&PE Secondary Curriculum Supports

Ophea continues to support secondary schools in the implementation of H&PE.

Grades 9-10 Supports

Secondary schools may still access and use the H&PE Curriculum Support Documents (Grades 9 & 10) to support the implementation of H&PE. The Support Documents (often called the H&PE Binders) include lesson plans, daily physical activity ideas, and black line masters.

Grade 11 and 12 H&PE Supplementary Course Materials

Support materials are available for the following courses:

PPL30 Healthy Active Living Education
PPZ30 Health for Life
PPL40 Healthy Active Living Education
PSE4U Exercise Science

Note: These are not complete course material packages. Please check the course profiles for additional materials.
Permission is given to reproduce these materials for any purpose except profit. Teachers are encouraged to amend, revise, edit, and otherwise adapt this material for educational purposes.

Student resources include task cards, copy ready materials for students to fill out, homework sheets to reinforce information, assignments and assessment tools.

H&PE Secondary Curriculum Next Steps:

Ophea is currently working on a comprehensive needs assessment which will be used to inform Ophea’s next steps in helping to build the knowledge and skills of educators and community partners to support healthy active living for secondary students, primarily through delivery of the revised secondary H&PE curriculum (release date has yet to be confirmed by the Ministry of Education).
