Ophea H&PE Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8
Ophea has developed the Ophea H&PE Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8 to support implementation of Ontario’s 2010 H&PE Curriculum. This is an online resource available to school boards & health units by subscription.
This online resource provides 130 ready-to-use lesson plans per grade, student templates and assessment tools. The resources are organized into two main sections that are consistent with the 2010 H&PE Curriculum: Movement Competence & Active Living, and Healthy Living. As in the curriculum, activities that address living skills are integrated throughout.
Each grade includes:
- “Upfront" section with detailed background information
- 20-25 units including unit overviews, lesson plans and additional teacher and student resources
- Division-specific appendices which include warm-up and cool-down activities, a safe stretching guide, program planning information and four sample timetables as well as teaching and learning tools and strategies
The Ophea H&PE Curriculum Resources: Grades 1-8 are available in English and French.
The Ophea H&PE Resources are available to subscribing school boards and health units. Educators should contact their H&PE school board contact for details about how to access this password-protected site. If you need support in contacting your H&PE board contact or if you are a school board or another organization and wish to gain access to the resource please email curriculum [at] ophea [dot] net.
