Road Safety Education

Ontario’s Road Safety Education addresses issues of pedestrian, cycling and passenger safety, along with prevention of risky behaviours, distracted and impaired driving.

These issues are addressed through comprehensive cross-curricular lesson plans, and community engagement toolkits.  Four resources were developed to provide specific support for each grade division, Kindergarten to Grade 3 (Primary), Grade 4 to 6 (Junior), Grade 7 to 8 (Intermediate) and Grade 9 to 12 (Senior).

The Ontario Road Safety Resources are a revolutionary educational tool for the province’s teachers, public health and community leaders dedicated to supporting the health and well being of Ontario’s children and youth.

The Ontario Road Safety Resources are available in English and French.

Ontario’s Road Safety Education Resources were developed in partnership between the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) and the Ontario Physical and Health Education Association (Ophea).
