Let’s Get Moving!
Today (March 28) Ophea launched the Movement is... campaign, to help promote the importance of getting kids physically active every day.
Research shows that movement can help students in lots of ways. Our Movement is...campaign shines light on how movement is...“joy, learning, and belonging.” By getting kids active not only are you promoting healthy living, you are supporting them to prevent and manage anxiety, increase memory, build problem-solving skills, and boost self-esteem.
In addition, The Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines for Children and Youth (ages 5-17) recommends at least 60 minutes of moderate-to vigorous-intensity physical activity (MVPA) per day for children and youth. Getting students active for 20 minutes during class time as part of the Daily Physical Activity (DPA) policy (PPM 138) helps them reach 60 minutes a day!
Get inspired and get your class moving!
