Ophea has developed a variety of resources and tools for educators and administrators, to support children and youth with prevalent medical conditions, including asthma.

Resources include:

Prevalent Medical Conditions Resources: supporting the Ministry of Education’s policy PPM 161 – Supporting Children and Students with Prevalent Medical Conditions (Anaphylaxis, Asthma, Diabetes, and/or Epilepsy) in Schools. These resources support educators and administration in managing the home-school connection of students with prevalent medical conditions. These include:

Asthma Resources: supporting the implementation of Ryan’s Law, 2015 (Ensuring Asthma Friendly Schools) and PPM 161, developed in partnership with the Lung Association - Ontario. Includes:

  • Management of Asthma at School Tip Sheets
  • Asthma School Resource Kits (for educators, principals, and school communities)
