Connected to Community Activities

Flash Mob

Show up in a public space with a large group of people and have everyone do the same thing at the same time.

It's Show Time

Use a public space or already scheduled event to share your message through a short skit on a topic related to growth and development (e.g., body image, diversity, healthy relationships, and self-esteem) with a large audience.

No, Thank You Awards

A ceremony where movies, TV shows, commercials, print advertisements, music videos, or songs receive a “No, Thank You” award for perpetuating negative stereotypes or attitudes related to growth and development topics (e.g., victim blaming, misogynistic attitudes, sexist jokes, unhealthy relationships, negative body image).

Consent Tea Party

Using the simple analogy “consent is as easy as a cup of tea” students can host a tea party grounded in talk about consent and healthy boundaries.

Viral Videos

Make a short (30-second to 1-minute) video and post it to YouTube to raise awareness about growth and development topics that are relevant to your school community. It could be a personal description of the terms “ally,” “healthy relationships,” “consent,” “positive body image,” or “diversity”.

World Café

A healthy and safe space for students to openly discuss questions surrounding growth and development.

Chalk It Up

Take over the streets and sidewalks with your messages about growth and development by writing or drawing images with sidewalk chalk.

Cup 'n' Run

Create a growth and development-related message (for example, consent, positive body image, diversity, healthy relationships, and self-esteem) by inserting paper cups in a chain-link fence to spell words.

Ask the Expert

Organize an event with an expert from your community to share key knowledge and research about growth and development topics relevant to your peers, younger students, or community. This can be done through workshops, presentations, information posters, etc. It could be as small as sharing ideas by word-of-mouth or as large as an assembly.

Social Media Takeover

Take to social media to spread the word about growth and development topics (e.g., self-esteem, sexual violence prevention, harassment, healthy relationships, and consent).
