Ophea’s Concussion Identification, Management and Prevention for Ontario Schools e-Learning module
Ophea’s Concussion Identification, Management and Prevention for Ontario Schools e-Learning module was developed to increase awareness and understanding of concussion, and the method and strategies to be used for identification and appropriate management. The module also includes strategies and resources to assist in the education of concussion prevention. This e-Learning module is intended for all school staff including educators, administrators and support staff.
By the end of this e-Learning module participants will increase their awareness and knowledge of:
- Concussion (definition, signs and symptoms, seriousness of concussions)
- How to identify and to respond to a suspected concussion
- How to support students returning to learn and returning to physical activity after being diagnosed with a concussion
- Strategies and resources to assist in concussion prevention and education
Throughout this e-Learning module participants will engage in a variety of learning tasks. Participants will also engage in “pause and reflect” activities during which they will consider what is being asked and make connections to their own knowledge and experiences.
Please note that enrollment for this module is currently closed and will reopen September 2018 with the revised module that reflects revisions to Ophea’s Concussion Protocol also being released September 2018.
